Everton adamant on new Jordan Pickford contract as multi-million may need to be spent
Everton fans would arguably like to see Jordan Pickford sign a lifetime contract at Bramley-Moore Dock.
The England international has been influential for the Toffees, almost single-handedly saving them from relegation with his performances in recent seasons.
James Tarkowski has extended his deal at the Hill Dickinson Stadium until 2028, and the Blues will now also want to secure the shot-stopper’s future.
Pickford was once again impressive for England against Wales, breaking a record by keeping a clean sheet in eight consecutive 90-minute appearances for the Three Lions.

Jordan Pickford replacement will be expensive at Everton
Pickford’s continuity at the Toffees is a priority in LS4, Dominic King says.
The Daily Mail journalist believes it would take double whatever the Blues will have to spend on the English goalkeeper’s new contract to replace him.
King reveals that the Merseyside outfit want the 31-year-old to finish his career at the club, but it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
The journalist wrote in the Daily Mail on 10 October: “Soon Pickford will sign a new contract, with Everton adamant they want him to finish his career on Merseyside — whatever it would cost them to finance such a deal, you could essentially double the figure to bring in comparable quality. He really has become that important.”

Pickford is keen to extend his stay at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and the Toffees should prioritise handing him a new contract, which currently ends in 2027.
It doesn’t look like the goalkeeper has any intention to leave the Blues, which should be a relief for supporters in LS4.
Douglass Lukjanciks to be Jordan Pickford successor
Douglass Lukjanciks was brilliant for the Under-18s against Middlesbrough, with the 18-year-old goalkeeper saving a penalty and keeping a clean sheet as the Merseyside outfit were down to nine men.
Pickford is known for his penalty-saving abilities, and if the young goalkeeper can continue to develop, he may be next in line to be the number one at Everton.
Competition | Appearances | Goals conceded | Clean sheets |
Premier League | 7 | 7 | 2 |
There’s still a long way to go for Lukjanciks, but with the right coaching and mentorship, he could potentially be the England international’s successor.
For now, the Toffees are in good hands with Pickford shining in between the sticks, and long may that continue.
