Everton cult hero names Jack Grealish player of the season as one difference seen

Everton pulled off a coup by signing Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

The England international’s arrival at the Toffees has worked wonders as they find themselves eighth in the Premier League after seven matches.

Grealish scored a stoppage-time winner against Crystal Palace on 5 October, with the 2-1 win a major statement from the Blues.

David Moyes has been questioned at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in recent weeks after the Merseyside outfit were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Wolves, but the Scottish manager can still pull off something special with the Man City loanee in the current campaign.

Jack Grealish makes entire Everton team better

Grealish’s calmness on the ball has made his teammates around him better, Anders Limpar says.

The Toffees’ cult hero believes the 30-year-old can relieve pressure on other players in the team due to his ability to keep possession, just like Iliman Ndiaye.

Limpar feels there’s a clear difference that can be seen under Moyes this season, with the English forward the Merseyside outfit’s player of the season so far.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo on 10 October, the ex-Swedish midfielder said: “Jack is helping in that sense when it comes to keeping the ball because you can easily play out to him or Ndiaye and they help the team relax. They’re making other players better, Jack is making the whole team better because he is calm on the ball — it’s so clear to see the difference.”

Limpar added: “To bring in a player like Jack, who has been there and done it, is a nice feeling. He’s been Everton’s player of the season so far.”

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Grealish’s move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium made permanent with the 50million option to buy arguably a bargain.

Jack Grealish World Cup dream with England shattered

Grealish will be disappointed not to make Thomas Tuchel’s squad, but the attacker should know that everyone in LS4 celebrates him.

While there’s still time before the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States starts, it looks unlikely that the Man City loanee will be on the plane.

Despite Grealish’s impressive displays at Everton, Tuchel doesn’t appear to fancy him, and there are just two more international breaks after this before the major international tournament starts.

Stranger things have happened, but the English forward’s World Cup dream may be shattered after moving to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
