Brian Sorensen shares what he has heard about Hill Dickinson Stadium ahead of Everton Women vs Man United

Everton Women take on Manchester United on Sunday, with the match set to take place at the Hill Dickinson Stadium to create more history.

With the men’s team moving to the brand-new Hill Dickinson Stadium at the start of this season, Everton Women have remained at Goodison Park for the Women’s Super League.

However, Sunday’s match will mark the first time Everton Women have played at the new ground, which has a capacity of over 50,000.

Brian Sorensen has explained what he hopes to get from the match as a huge crowd watches on.

Brian Sorensen looks forward to huge Hill Dickinson Stadium crowd

Even though Man United are clear favourites to beat Everton, Sorensen cannot wait for Sunday’s contest.

He said: “We are going to enjoy it in a big stadium. From what I hear, it will be a big crowd. We are all excited for it.

“It’s going to be a very good atmosphere. We are going to go out there and put everything on the line.

“Hopefully, the fans will come back to Goodison to watch us play. Our plan is to put on a good show and make it an exciting game.”

Everton and Man United’s WSL records this season

Everton’s 4-1 demolition of Liverpool on the opening day of the season spelt huge promise for Sorensen’s side, yet their form has tailed off ever since.

The Toffees are winless in their last five matches in all competitions and must defeat a Manchester United side who are unbeaten in the WSL this season.

Whilst the pressure is firmly on the Toffees, they’ll be hoping that they can put in an inspired performance in front of the huge crowd at the state-of-the-art stadium.

Despite only being five games into the domestic season, Sunday’s clash could be huge for the course of Everton’s season.

Everton Women in desperate need of huge win over Man United

Having finished in eighth place last season, the Toffees will be hoping a win over Man United can kickstart their goals of improving under Sorenson as he begins his fourth campaign in charge.

Despite some poor results, goals haven’t been hard to come by, and it’s their poor defending that has let them down.

Star striker Ornella Vignola has been excellent for Everton, with her four WSL goals leaving her joint-top of the scoring charts.

If Everton can shore up their defensive issues, they could achieve an excellent win in front of a record-breaking crowd for them at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday at 12:00 pm (BST).
