Here’s how long Jordan Pickford will stay at Everton as new contract details emerge

Jordan Pickford is close to agreeing a new contract at Hill Dickinson Stadium in a massive boost for Everton.

Pickford is set to sign his new Everton contract this week, likely after returning to Finch Farm from England duty.

Seventy-nine cap Pickford broke another England record last week when surpassing Gordon Banks’ long-standing record for successive clean sheets.

Pickford has more England records in his sights, but focus will switch back to Everton duties later in the week ahead of the Toffees’ trip to Manchester City next Saturday.

How long will Jordan Pickford’s latest contract run?

Pickford has spent eight years as an Everton player and his current deal was set to run until 2027, taking him to a decade on Merseyside.

However, as per Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett via X on Monday, Pickford’s new-and-improved deal will now run until 2029.

The four-year contract is already believed to have been agreed upon, with only official confirmation now remaining.

Pickford is one of three players David Moyes wants to build Everton around, alongside Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski.

All three will have signed new deals at Everton come the end of this week, with the latter two having already put pen to paper.

Pickford set to climb up Everton’s all-time appearances list

Pickford has made 326 appearances for Everton in all competitions since joining from Sunderland in 2017.

That already ranks Pickford, who also previously spent time on loan with Darlington, Bradford City, Preston and others, high up on Everton’s all-time appearance makers list.

Pickford still has some way to go to catch fellow goalkeeper Neville Southall, though, as the Welshman made 750 appearances for Everton.

But Pickford could easily break into the top 10 before too long after signing this new deal, with Leon Osman and the great Dixie Dean level in that position with 433 games under their belts.

It goes without saying that Pickford will depart Hill Dickinson Stadium one day – hopefully no time soon – as one of Everton’s greatest of all time.
