Ben Foster wowed by what Jordan Pickford has done – Here’s what he said about Everton star
Jordan Pickford has been an unbelievable asset for Everton over the past eight years.
Pickford continues to perform for Everton week in, week out, yet he has been just as impressive when playing for England.
David Moyes is planning to build a squad that can challenge for European football, and Pickford will certainly play a crucial part in that.
Pickford is set to sign a new contract at Everton that could keep him in Merseyside until 2029, and after what he recently did for England, this will be a huge boost for the Toffees faithful.

Jordan Pickford breaks Gordon Banks’ clean sheet record for England
Pickford made England history against Wales by surpassing Gordon Banks and becoming the first Three Lions goalkeeper to keep eight consecutive clean sheets.
Following England’s 5-0 win over Latvia, this total has risen to nine, and playing in Thomas Tuchel’s defensively stable system, this record could extend even further.
Ben Foster, who made 390 Premier League appearances in his career, praised Pickford’s reliability for both club and country.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the retired goalkeeper said: “Pickford is in such a good place not only for Everton, but for England too. He’s so settled, he’s so calm, and he knows what to do.
“He’s so steady, and you know you’re at least going to get a 7/10 performance from him.”
- England caps: 80
- Appearances for Everton: 326
- Premier League clean sheets for Everton: 85
Theo Walcott also praised Pickford’s maturity and how he has developed into one of the best goalkeepers in Europe despite the Toffees’ absence from elite continental competitions.
This season, Pickford has continued to be reliable for the Toffees, saving a penalty in the 2-0 win over Brighton during the first match at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
At 31, Pickford is in his prime, and his playing days are far from over on both a club and international level.
Everton fans will be delighted with how he has performed over the best part of a decade, and they’ve warned us from the start that he is much better than what he is given credit for.
Jordan Pickford has proved the doubters wrong
Pickford is 22nd on the all-time Everton appearance list, yet in the likely event that he remains at Everton, he could go way further.
Having joined the Toffees for £30m from Sunderland in 2017, some pundits and fans were unsure about the shot-stopper’s abilities.
As a young goalkeeper, he was much more erratic and unreliable, whilst his stature as one of the Premier League’s smaller goalkeepers drew further doubts on whether he would succeed.
Pickford could not have done any better to show that he is an incredible goalkeeper, and the future looks bright for his career at Everton and England.
