Jordan Pickford somehow slammed as Everton exit claim emerges live on air
Jordan Pickford has become one of the first names on the England team sheet in recent years.
The 31-year-old has earned 80 caps for England and has played a crucial role in their major tournament campaigns ever since his breakthrough in 2018.
Pickford is a modern-day legend for Everton, having been at the club since 2017 following a £30m move from Sunderland.
Everton’s goalkeeper has been a consistent performer for several seasons now, yet he has never been grouped amongst the elite goalkeepers in world football.
However, former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has criticised Pickford and alluded to a potential Merseyside exit in the past.

Danny Murphy alludes to failed Jordan Pickford exit from Everton
Pickford continues to make England history after becoming the first Three Lions goalkeeper to keep nine consecutive clean sheets during the 5-0 win over Latvia on Tuesday.
However, he is still not viewed as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, despite the longevity of impressive performances for both club and country.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 15 October, Murphy slammed the idea that Pickford is among the best goalkeepers in the world.
He said: “He’s not a top-tier goalkeeper when you think of the Premier League’s best.
“Compared to Alisson, David Raya, and Gianluigi Donnarumma, he’s not as good as those goalkeepers when it comes to claiming crosses; his presence isn’t the same.

Murphy went on to say that Pickford would have left the Toffees a long time ago if a bigger club came knocking.
“He’s been at Everton for a reason, and if he had the opportunity to play Champions League football, he would have gone.
“The reason he hasn’t left is because those opportunities haven’t come.“
Pickford’s contract runs out in June 2027, yet it is expected that he will be offered a new deal that will last until 2029.
Pickford has showcased his importance to the Toffees on numerous occasions and has entered the prime of his career.
Jordan Pickford must be considered as one of Europe’s best goalkeepers
Pickford has been praised for his recent performances, yet it is harsh to judge him based on his loyalty to the Toffees.
It feels unfair to criticise him just based on the fact that he hasn’t played in the Champions League or won any major trophies.
Whilst Raya, Alisson, and Donnarumma are amongst the best in world football, who’s to say that Pickford isn’t in that category?
The 31-year-old shot-stopper came third in the Golden Glove award despite Everton’s 13th-placed finish last season, and he has single-handedly kept the Toffees in the Premier League on many occasions.
Despite breaking records every season, Pickford continues to be judged based on his achievements with his team, rather than his prowess as a goalkeeper.
As for claims that he would have left Everton for a club that could offer Champions League football, not only is that hearsay, but there is no proof or evidence that has shown Pickford has ever pushed for a move away from Merseyside.
This ridiculous narrative simply has to stop.
