Erling Haaland’s record vs Everton should give David Moyes nightmares
David Moyes will be dreading coming up against Erling Haaland when his Everton side face Manchester City on Saturday.
Everton travel to the Etihad Stadium on 18 October, looking to continue their positive start to the campaign.
Everton will be without Jack Grealish, after his dramatic late winner against Crystal Palace, because he cannot face his parent club.
The Blues loanee may have to watch on, hoping that his friend, Haaland does not put his Everton side to the sword.

David Moyes will be terrified of Erling Haaland
Haaland regularly checks on Grealish’s progress with Everton, but the Toffees star will not be wishing him well on this occasion.
The Norway striker has started the campaign in brilliant form, leading the league in goals scored with nine goals in the opening seven matches.
His record against the Merseysiders is remarkable, with four goals in four matches, and he has never lost against the Blues, as the Sofascore graphic below shows.
In fact, he has scored 94 goals since he joined City ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, and Everton have scored 125 in that time.

Everton need to neutralise Haaland
It goes without saying, and it is easier said than done, but the Blues need to find a way to keep the 25-year-old quiet.
If he gets his way and takes hold of the contest, then Moyes’ side will have next to no chance of getting a positive result from the contest.
- Haaland has started the season in electric form
- He has notched nine goals in seven games, and also has one assist
- He bagged a hat-trick in Norway’s 5-0 win over Israel on 11 October
James Tarkowski may be partnered by Jake O’Brien, as Michael Keane went off injured in the win over Palace, and his status is still in question.
The Toffees would love a player who scored as much as Haaland, but until they find one, they will have to stop him.
If they can do that, they may finally end a streak of 17 matches in all competitions without a win over City, but it is a mammoth ask given his form at the moment.
