Everton’s most valuable academy graduates listed – Over £120m worth of talent has left the Toffees

Everton have boasted a widely successful academy for years, producing numerous top stars.

Since David Moyes has return to the Toffees, he has ensured this trend has continued under his watch.

The Scotsman has taken special notice of Harrison Armstrong, who impressed for Everton in pre-season, before being sent out on loan to Preston. On top of this, upcoming stars such as Elijah Campbell have been spotted on the bench this season as he is given a dose of matchday experience with the first team.

There are also plenty of other youngsters waiting in the wings, as they look to show Moyes that they have what it takes to break through.

However, many of Everton’s best academy graduates have simply moved on in recent years, with their talents now being exploited elsewhere.

Anthony Gordon continues to find success after Everton

Like it or not, Anthony Gordon is the best player to come out of Everton’s academy in recent years.

The winger has continued to impress for Newcastle and played a key role in ending the Magpies’ trophy drought last season as they lifted the Carabao Cup.

While Gordon’s departure from Everton was controversial, which has caused a divide between the England international and the Toffees fanbase, there is no questioning the talent he possesses.

Another success story is no doubt that of Ross Barkley.

The attacking midfielder was a success at Goodison Park for years, and was arguably the best talent to come through the academy since Wayne Rooney.

After making 179 appearances for the Toffees, scoring 27 goals, he has since had spells at Chelsea, Nice, Luton Town and Aston Villa twice, winning numerous trophies on the way.

Everton have even been backed to re-sign Barkley in recent weeks, in what would be a sensational return.

One of his most iconic moments in a Toffees shirt came in the 6-3 victory over Bournemouth in 2017, when the attacking midfielder rounded the goalkeeper and celebrated before hitting the ball into the net.

However, the duo are the only players to have made a name for themselves elsewhere.

Everton’s most valuable academy products ranked

It is unsurprising that Gordon is ranked as the current most valuable star to come out of the academy according to Transfermarkt on 14 October.

The Newcastle winger is followed by Fulham’s Antonee Robinson, who has shone in the Premier League, and Isaac Price, who is impressing at West Brom.

Tom Cannon and Eric Dier continue the list, with Nathan Broadhead, Barkley and Ellis Simms completing the top eight.

Market value on the Transfermarkt website is not the same as the value a player would or could be sold for. Please just bear that in mind.

Currently, the most valuable player who is still at Everton is Armstrong, ranked 22nd on the list, which shows more work needs to be done to keep these stars.

However, given the potential the midfielder clearly has, there is room for this value to grow, and for him to eventually become a first-team regular for Moyes.

Hopefully, many other young stars will follow in the 18-year-old’s footsteps to help the Toffees climb back up the Premier League table.
