David Moyes will be terrified after another Everton omen emerges ahead of Manchester City clash
Everton manager David Moyes is looking for a surprise result when his side face Manchester City on Saturday.
Everton travel to City as huge underdogs, without a win in their last 17 matches against Pep Guardiola’s side.
Erling Haaland has a stunning record against Everton, and he has started the campaign in brilliant form, with nine goals in seven Premier League matches.
There is another reason for Moyes to be worried ahead of the contest at the Etihad Stadium on 18 October.

New Everton omen will concern David Moyes
Everton head into the clash without Jack Grealish, reducing their chances of securing a positive result even further.
There is another negative omen heading into the contest as Everton have won just one of their last 11 matches after the international break, per Squawka, and just four of the last 19, which is the worst record in the division.
That is especially concerning given who they face next, City have won 15 of their last 19 games that come immediately after the break, ranking top of the league.
Premier League Rank | Matches | Won | Drawn | Lost |
1.) Man City | 19 | 15 | 2 | 2 |
20.) Everton | 19 | 4 | 5 | 10 |
All the signs point to Everton getting beat
That dismal post-international break record is just another reason why Moyes will surely be terrified when his side travel to Manchester.
Without Grealish and potentially Michael Keane and Jarrad Branthwaite, it will be a huge ask for the Blues, especially considering Haaland’s form.
- Everton’s only win after the international break in their last 11, came last season against Ipswich Town, who were relegated at the end of the campaign
- They drew 0-0 with Aston Villa after the September break, ending a two-match winning streak
- They will hope to change their fortunes against the Citizens
It would be a huge upset if the Toffees can pull off a victory against Guardiola’s side, given his dominance against them in recent years.
The break seems to sap all momentum from the Merseysiders, and the Scotsman will hope and pray that it does not happen once again.
Several Blues stars had positive outings for their countries and hopefully they can continue that and break the dismal record that their side have recently off the back of the breaks.
