Carlos Alcaraz to benefit most as David Moyes confirms Everton ‘rejig’ vs Manchester City

Carlos Alcaraz could finally be set for a chance to impress at Everton.

Everton frustration has emerged from Alcaraz’s camp this season after becoming a bit-part player under David Moyes.

Alcaraz signed for Everton permanently from Flamengo in the summer, but has yet to build on what was a positive loan spell.

The campaign could be set to change for the Argentine as Everton look ahead to a clash against Manchester City on Saturday.

The Toffees could call upon Alcaraz for inspiration at the Etihad after Moyes shared fresh team news from the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

David Moyes confirms Everton changes vs Manchester City

Moyes has been left fuming by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s suspension, coming off the back of a string of strange yellow card decisions.

The Englishman will come back into the squad to face Pep Guardiola’s side, but that doesn’t look likely to impact the ex-Southampton man.

Moyes is now without Jack Grealish as the attacking midfielder is ineligible to face off against his parent club.

The loanee has been a breath of fresh air on Merseyside and will be missed, but the Toffees’ head coach has been preparing for his absence.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the Man City clash on 17 October, he said: “Jack will be a miss for us because he’s played so well, but we knew that when we came to play Manchester City, so it’s not expected… We’ll rejig and get ready to go.”

It is the final point that will be music to the ears of Alcaraz as he could prove to be a huge beneficiary from this “rejig” at the Etihad.

Carlos Alcaraz could now start vs Manchester City

It has been a difficult few months for the 22-year-old since his loan move was made permanent by the Blues.

Moyes has afforded him just one Premier League start so far this campaign and 163 minutes across a further four substitute appearances.

Alcaraz has something to offer this Everton team with his 0.86 shots, 1.00 dribbles completed on average in all competitions, and 50.80 touches per 90 in the league.

Add to this an average of 3.31 tackles and 7.73 duels, which sums up his work rate to a tee, something which could be an excellent weapon to deploy against Manchester City.

The Argentine showed his quality as a half-time substitute against Crystal Palace last time out, maintaining a 78 per cent pass accuracy, creating one chance, and taking two shots.

Coming in for Grealish could be the perfect storm for the midfielder to prove his class and why he should be starting every week.
