Iliman Ndiaye superb as 3/10 dismal again – Everton player ratings vs Manchester City

Everton fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Manchester City on Saturday.

Everton came into the contest looking to arrest a dismal record against Pep Guardiola‘s side, but they could not do that on 18 October at the Etihad Stadium.

Everton were without Jack Grealish for the clash, and that ultimately showed, as the Citizens got the better of them.

David Moyes’ side still had chances, but they lacked the cutting edge that he brings, and Erling Haaland continued his immense record against Everton, with the two decisive strikes.

Beto dismal again for Everton, Moyes has a problem

Beto missed several chances to give Everton the lead in the first half, and they were ultimately made to pay for that.

The Guinea-Bissau forward has been in dismal form recently, with just one goal in the opening seven Premier League matches.

He missed one big chance, had just one shot and won just seven of 12 aerial battles that he attempted, per Sofascore.

Moyes has a major problem, because Thierno Barry has not settled in either and has not scored in his first seven appearances.

The Scotsman needs his strikers to start putting the ball in the back of the net, not missing constant chances.

Beto needs to start taking chances; otherwise, Moyes will have no choice but to try something different in the near future.

Iliman Ndiaye is the bright spark for Everton in Man City loss

Ndiaye has been one of the standout players for Everton, and that was the case once again in the defeat.

He was extremely dangerous in the first half, creating numerous chances that teammates like Beto failed to put away.

The Senegal international continued his brilliant form from the international break, in a superb personal performance despite his team ultimately being on the wrong side.

He completed two key passes and created a big chance in the 86 minutes that he was on the pitch, as shown by the Sofascore graphic below.

Moyes needs to do something to ensure that the creativity from the likes of Ndiaye and Grealish does not go to waste.
