Jamie O’Hara names one Everton star who ‘looked like a Man City player’

Everton fell to a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, but one star stood out above the rest for the Blues.

Beto put in a dismal display for Everton in front of goal, and could have changed the complexion of it had he been more clinical.

Everton were denied a penalty in a controversial call, and Erling Haaland ultimately settled proceedings with two second-half strikes on 18 October.

However, one Toffees star has been told that he looked like he should be playing for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Iliman Ndiaye singled out for special praise after Everton vs Manchester City

Ndiaye was excellent despite Everton’s loss, as he constantly created chances and harassed the Citizens’ defence.

That was picked up from former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara, who singled the Senegal star out for praise after his display at the Etihad Stadium.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 18 October, he said: “He ran the show I thought, he was brilliant, he looked like a Man City player playing for Everton.

“He is class.”

Everton need to keep hold on Ndiaye at all costs

Ndiaye was shifted to the right flank after Jack Grealish arrived at Finch Farm, but his game has only gone up a level despite the unfamiliar position.

His decision-making and creativity look to have gotten even better since the switch, and the Blues cannot afford to lose him, regardless of the fee that is on offer.

Ndiaye was linked with a summer exit, with Inter reportedly eyeing a £40million bid for the 25-year-old Toffees ace.

However, he remained on Merseyside, and he is thriving with or without Grealish in the side, constantly getting contributions, when Moyes’ side needs him to stand up and be counted.

They should try to keep him at all costs, but whether they can or not, that is a different question entirely, as he may decide he wants to play at a higher level.

Evertonians will hope that they can, because as O’Hara says, he is a game-changer, who could play for some of the elite clubs in the top-flight.
