Pat Nevin in awe of ‘absolutely frightening’ Everton player in Man City defeat

Everton produced a fine team display but ultimately fell to a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.

David Moyes knew the odds were against Everton at the Etihad Stadium, but his side gave as good as they got in Manchester.

A far cry from the heavy defeat Troy Deeney predicted for Everton, they were undone by a couple of Erling Haaland goals either side of the hour mark.

Iliman Ndiaye blows away in Everton loss vs Manchester City

Iliman Ndiaye has been superb for Everton since arriving, so much so that he has already been talked up as having a £50million price tag.

The Senegal international was on target for his national side during the two-week Premier League break and has four direct goal involvements in the Premier League this season.

Ndiaye was at it again at the Etihad, with his incredible movement and bursts up the channel catching the eye of Pat Nevin.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Nevin said: “Ndiaye has looked a cut above. When he runs at players, the speed of his feet is absolutely frightening.”

Ndiaye was unable to help Everton make a breakthrough against Man City, but his statistics were certainly impressive.

How did Ndiaye perform against Man City?

If not for Beto’s terrible finishing for Everton, they could easily have come away from the Etihad with a point – or even more, in fact.

As highlighted by Sofascore‘s stats, Ndiaye really was brilliant against City.

Ndiaye ad one shot on target and completed half of his four dribbles across his 86 minutes on the field.

He also played two key passes, neither of which his colleagues could make the most of, while helping out defensively with one interception and three tackles.

It was not the result the travelling Everton fans wanted, but fair play to Ndiaye for a brilliant all-round display.
