Troy Deeney predicts a 33-game Premier League first for Everton with wild Man City prediction

Everton have not been given a great deal of hope by many outsiders ahead of Saturday’s showdown with Manchester City.

Everton beat Crystal Palace 2-1 in their most recent outing to make it a more-than-respectable 11 points from their first seven Premier League games.

Despite being just two points behind their opponents, Everton are huge underdogs against Man City at the Etihad Stadium.

Everton have a poor record immediately following international breaks, but they will still make the trip to Manchester in positive spirits.

However, Troy Deeney certainly does not see things that way if his prediction is anything to go by.

Troy Deeney predicts heavy win for Man City vs Everton

Jamie Carragher predicted a 2-1 loss for Everton against Man City, which would be a respectable defeat but certainly not a result supporters would take right now.

In the view of player-turned-pundit Deeney, though, Everton are set to be blown away by Pep Guardiola’s side.

Sharing his prediction via his personal TikTok account, Deeney went with a 4-0 home win and said: “In years gone by this would have been a difficult game for Man City against a low block.

There’s obviously no Jack Grealish for Everton due to his loan. I expect Man City to win and to win comfortably.”

As a reminder, Everton have just two points fewer than Man City across the first seven games this season and could potentially end the day above them.

Everton have not conceded four goals in a Premier League game since December 2024

What makes this prediction all the more wild from Deeney is that Everton last shipped four goals in a single Premier League game in December 2014.

That was in a 4-0 loss to Manchester United as Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee each netted twice at Old Trafford.

Everton have a good defensive record in the Premier League

Everton have played 32 Premier League games since then and have not shipped more than three times in a match.

Indeed, the seven goals Everton have conceded in the Premier League this season has been bettered by only six others sides, Man City (six) being among those.
