Everton transfer to ‘enthuse’ Ivan Toney as Jack Grealish and World Cup claim emerges
Al-Ahli striker Ivan Toney may fancy a return to the Premier League with Everton.
David Moyes lost Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the summer, and with Youssef Chermiti’s departure, the Scottish manager has been left with a lack of options up front.
Thierno Barry arrived at the Hill Dickinson Stadium from Villarreal, but the young French striker is still trying to find his feet in England.
Beto has also struggled this season, missing a gilt-edged opportunity to potentially give the Blues the lead in the 2-0 loss to Manchester City on 18 October, leaving them with a clear priority in the upcoming transfer window.

Ivan Toney to have chance at World Cup squad with Jack Grealish creating chances at Everton
Toney should opt to sign for the Toffees amid interest from West Ham, Daniel Storey says.
The i Paper journalist believes the English striker could potentially be “enthused” about having someone like Jack Grealish create chances for him at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
While the 29-year-old centre-forward has been left out of the Three Lions’ recent squad by Thomas Tuchel, he may have an outside chance of making the plane to the World Cup if he moves to the Merseyside outfit.
Storey wrote in The i Paper on 20 October: “The answer — what about Ivan Toney in January? West Ham are very keen, but if I were Toney I’d be very enthused about having chances created by Grealish et al and giving me an outside run at a World Cup place next summer.”

Toney was linked with a move to Goodison Park during his time at Brentford, and the Al-Ahli striker has continued to score goals consistently in Saudi Arabia.
The Blues arguably need to reinforce their number nine position in January, and the England international would be a decent option if they can sign him for a reasonable fee or on loan until the end of the season.
Ivan Toney to bring goalscoring threat to Hill Dickinson Stadium
Moyes has been let down by Beto this season, with the Guinea-Bissau striker significantly underperforming at the Toffees.
Everton didn’t strengthen their attack adequately in the summer, and The Friedkin Group (TFG) have been left to rue that decision.
Team | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Al-Ahli | 55 | 39 | 7 |
Toney’s statistics at the Saudi Pro League suggest he would bring goals to the Merseyside outfit, having already scored nine in 11 appearances in all competitions this season.
Fans need to remember that the striker had 20 goals in 33 Premier League appearances for Brentford in the 2022-23 season, and that’s clearly the kind of threat the Toffees have been missing up front in the current campaign.
