David Moyes will lose it with Premier League announcement for Everton vs Tottenham clash

David Moyes is set for further fury ahead of Everton’s fixture with Tottenham on Sunday.

Everton host Tottenham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, looking to get back to winning ways after the loss to Manchester City.

Erling Haaland toppled Everton on 18 October, and Moyes will hope that his side can bounce back and make a statement against Thomas Frank’s side.

However, the Blues boss will not be confident after a fresh announcement was made before the contest.

Craig Pawson announced as referee for Everton vs Tottenham

Everton will fear another controversial refereeing incident against Spurs after a new announcement was made on the clash.

The Premier League have announced that Craig Pawson will take charge of the contest, with Lee Betts and Mat Wilkes as his assistants.

Tony Harrington has been named as the fourth official, Stuart Attwell is the VAR, and the assistant VAR is Constantine Hatzidakis.

Everton were denied a penalty in the loss to City.

Everton have a shaky history with Craig Pawson

Pawson has took charge of Everton matches on 30 occasions, with the Toffees winning just six times.

They have drawn eight times on his watch and lost 16 matches that he has been in the middle for, which will concern Moyes.

However, it is his controversial decisions that will have Moyes losing his head, as Pawson has regularly been involved in incidents that went against the Blues.

The most notable was a penalty claim for Dominic Calvert-Lewin against Newcastle in October 2024, which was waived away, when many observers felt it should have been a spot kick.

Another was his failure to send off Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate for a second bookable offence when he had already dismissed Ashley Young for the same thing in a Merseyside derby at Anfield in 2023.

He was also involved in an incident in the Blues’ Carabao Cup loss to Wolves in September, when he did not punish Santi Bueno for feigning a head injury and trying to stop an attack.

Moyes will be livid that Pawson is in charge again, and he will be observing his decisions very closely when his side take on the Lilywhites.
