Romesh Ranganathan shares brilliant Sean Dyche and Everton clip after Nottingham Forest appointment

Sean Dyche left Everton earlier this year with the well wishes of every supporter, even if his tenure did end in a disappointing manner.

Everton sacked Dyche in January ahead of an FA Cup tie with Peterborough United at Goodison Park.

That came on the back of Everton winning just three out of 19 Premier League games in the first half of last season.

However, while he departed with the Toffees 16th in the table, Dyche oversaw a lot of positives at Everton in a time when the Merseyside outfit were going through a difficult period off the pitch.

Dyche is now back in work with Nottingham Forest, with his appointment being made official on Tuesday.

Many have reacted to the news, with comedian and presenter Romesh Ranganathan the latest.

Sean Dyche hit back at Everton jibe on A League of Their Own

Dyche appeared on Sky show A League of Their Own earlier this year, with the show being broadcast a month after his sacking.

Ranganathan asked Dyche if he would have got a “bigger job” in his career had he been called ‘Dychio’, to which the Kettering native replied: “Bigger job? I’m Everton manager, mate”.

It was the perfect reply and went down very well with Evertonians at the time.

And Ranganathan has now reacted to news of Dyche’s appointment at the City Ground by sharing that same clip and adding the caption: “Great to see Dychio’s back in the game.”

Dyche was also surprisingly linked with the Man United job and many others during his time out of work.

When will Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest face Everton?

Dyche’s first game in charge of Forest will be Thursday’s Europa League tie against Porto, before a trip to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.

Everton fans will already have 6 December circled in their diaries, as that is when Everton welcome Dyche’s Forest to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The reverse fixture at City Ground takes place on 30 December, although that is subject to change once the broadcasters announce any fixture changes.

Everton fans will wish Dyche all the best in his new job, although not of course in those two December fixtures.
