Paul Merson predicts Everton worry vs Fulham, guesses scoreline
Everton have to win against Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday to keep up their confidence, Paul Merson says.
The former Arsenal forward believes the Toffees’ recent form has been “worrying”, with David Moyes’ team dropping more points against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on 3 November in the 1-1 draw.
Hill Dickinson Stadium will now host Fulham on 8 November, with both teams near the relegation zone after a disappointing start to the season.
The Blues are arguably desperate for three points after failing to win any of their last three league matches, and they’ve been backed to do so at Marco Silva’s expense.

Everton to beat Fulham at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Merson expects the Toffees to beat Fulham 2-1 at home and get back to winning ways.
The Blues have faced Manchester City and Tottenham in recent weeks, and while they’ve had a tough run of fixtures, one win in eight games in all competitions is certainly not good enough.
With the Hill Dickinson Stadium faithful having aspirations of qualifying for Europe this season, sitting 14th in the Premier League isn’t good enough.
Merson wrote in Sportskeeda on 7 November: “Everton have one win in their last eight games, which is a worrying run of form. I know they’ve had some tough fixtures during the time, but that draw at home to West Ham has put some pressure on them. If they don’t win soon, this run will start eating up their confidence.
Merson added: “I’ve got to go with Everton here. They desperately need a win, and I expect them to get the job done against Fulham.”
Moyes is facing the heat at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but the Scottish manager is undoubtedly best placed to turn things around in L4.
David Moyes to boost Premier League position with January transfer
The Friedking Group (TFG) could soon make another statement of intent with Ivan Toney, with the Blues linked with a move for the Al-Ahli striker.
Everton surely need to strengthen their attack as Beto and Thierno Barry struggle to find the back of the net, and the England international may be the answer to their problems.
| Venue | Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses | Goals scored/conceded |
| Home | 5 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 5/5 |
| Away | 5 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 5/8 |
Moyes will hope the Blues sign a recognised goalscorer like Toney in January to boost their hopes of finishing further up the table.
While it’s encouraging to see Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye thrive in L4, a reliable number nine could potentially take the Merseysiders to the next level.
