David Moyes will be pleased as three Everton players top impressive Premier League statistic

Everton have three players in the Premier League’s top five expected assists this season.

David Moyes has been criticised for Everton’s attacking efforts in the Premier League, which has already hampered them in several games.

The Toffees have netted 12 goals thus far, which is one of the lowest in the league.

The international break will be the perfect time for Moyes to rethink his attacking tactics, but the signs already show that this won’t be an issue too difficult for the 62-year-old to overcome.

Jack Grealish tops assist stat for Everton

Jack Grealish has been excellent for Everton since arriving on loan from Manchester City over the summer.

Grealish has been Everton’s best creator this season, so Grealish recording the most expected assists [xA] in the Premier League isn’t a surprise.

But what may come as a shock is that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Iliman Ndiaye are also in the top five in third and fourth, respectively.

The Man City loanee has provided four assists from 2.50 xA, while Dewsbury-Hall has two assists and Ndiaye has one from 2.40 xA this season.

Dewsbury-Hall has also created five big chances for Everton this period, which is the joint most in the Premier League.

In total, the Toffees have created the ninth most big chances in the league this season, and with several creators and chances created, only 12 goals scored is a damning statistic.

Nevertheless, Moyes will be pleased to have three important creators at his disposal.

Why are Everton scoring so few goals?

While Everton have created 23 big chances this season, they have missed plenty of them.

It is not a surprise that the Toffees have struggled to convert their chances with two of their strikers in such poor form.

In comparison, Erling Haaland has a 31.1 per cent conversion rate, Nick Woltemade has 30.8 per cent, and Danny Welbeck has 42.9 per cent. The difference is staggering.

This is something the Toffees will need to address, and might lead to Everton arming Moyes with reinforcements over the winter window.

Thus, Everton are a clear creative threat; the challenge now is to bridge the gap between their creative and goalscoring numbers.
