Everton build ‘strong pressure’ for Juanlu Sanchez transfer after Premier League offer submitted

Everton are pushing hard to secure the signing of Juanlu Sanchez in the January transfer window.

The Toffees have had their eyes on the Sevilla right-back for several months now, and they were heavily linked with a move for him over the summer.

Sanchez was a “priority objective” for Everton at one stage, but they were ultimately unable to get a deal over the line, although that could soon change this winter.

David Moyes and Co. have had eyes on the Spain youth international for a prolonged period now, and they could finally get their hands on him this time around.

Everton to push for Juanlu Sanchez transfer alongside Crystal Palace

Everton’s pursuit of Sanchez in the summer was matched by Wolves, as a move to the Premier League seemed a very realistic possibility at one stage.

Napoli were also interested in taking the 22-year-old to Serie A, and they look set to be a key rival to the Merseysiders in the race once again.

The Naples outfit are understood to be “preparing another offensive” for Sanchez, and are armed with a £44million budget with a new right-back on their list, according to Diario de Sevilla.

However, while the Italian giants are showing an interest in the defender once again, there is also “strong pressure” for a deal from the Premier League, in the form of Everton and Crystal Palace.

The pair will try to convince the starlet to make the switch to England, after Wolves ultimately failed with the offer that they submitted to him in the summer.

Sevilla may be forced into selling Juanlu Sanchez in January

Everton have been hindered by injuries and a lack of depth in their defence so far this term, and as a result, it is no surprise to see that Sanchez is still a priority for them in January.

They desperately need to add another option to Jake O’Brien on the right side of the backline, and Sevilla’s situation could play perfectly into their hands.

Diario de Sevilla report that the Spanish giants made a “calamitous” loss of around £47.5m this year, and have to “continue selling” players as a result.

Despite having been regularly involved this season, Sanchez is seemingly viewed as the second-choice right-back behind Jose Angel Carmona, and could find himself on the chopping block.

That will be music to the ears of Everton, who will now know that a deal is firmly within their grasp, providing they can push ahead of Palace and Napoli in the race.
