The Magpies suffered defeat in Marseille midweek and are still chasing their first away win of the season in the Premier League.

To ensure that the wait goes on, Moyes is likely to make two changes on Saturday to the side that secured victory against Man United.

Jake O’Brien comes in for injured Seamus Coleman

Jordan Pickford, being an ex-Sunderland boy, will be right up for this game against his former rivals, and he will start between the sticks with just one change in front of him.

Seamus Coleman was forced off with an injury against Man United, and given the fact that Jake O’Brien took his place at Old Trafford, it’s likely that he will be given the nod in the starting 11 this weekend.

James Tarkowski was involved in a coming together with Joshua Zirkzee last time out, and he will no doubt be in the thick of the action alongside Michael Keane in the heart of defence.

Vitalii Mykolenko is by far Everton’s best option for the left-back role, meaning he should retain his place in the side.

Idrissa Gana Gueye was sent off for Everton after slapping Keane in the face, with Tim Iroegbunam expected to replace him in the starting 11, alongside James Garner.

Aston Villa are said to be keen on signing Garner, who is expected to enter fresh contract talks with the Toffees imminently.

Thierno Barry leads the line for Everton

Thierno Barry performed well against Man United, but was again left searching for his first goal for the Toffees.

Barry won 14 aerial duels according to Sofascore and provided the outball that Everton often needed to progress up the pitch, especially with ten men.

However, he is likely to start once again this weekend, with Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye on the wings supplying him.

Grealish is yet to lose against the Magpies in the Premier League, and will no doubt be keen on extending that record this weekend.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will play slightly deeper than the trio after scoring a wondergoal at Old Trafford.
