Everton player ratings vs Newcastle United: Jordan Pickford horror show stuns, 6/10 best of bad bunch
Everton fell to a 4-1 defeat against Newcastle United on Thursday.
The Toffees’ winning run has come to an end, and any positivity from Everton’s victory away to Manchester United has gone.
Moyes may have been pleased with Idrissa Gueye against Manchester United, but he can’t have any positivity coming away from the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Malick Thiaw, Lewis Miley and Nick Woltemade all got on the scoresheet as Thierno Barry’s search for an Everton goal continues, after his strike was ruled out for handball.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored again while Jordan Pickford had a day to forget, with the keeper at fault regularly, with Goodison News now rating each player’s performance out of 10.

Jordan Pickford has stinker vs Newcastle United
Everton keeper Pickford is a star for England and is up there with one of the best goalkeepers in the entire Premier League.
The 31-year-old always seems to struggle in some capacity when it comes to facing Newcastle, largely due to his Sunderland ties.
Pickford was arguably to blame for most of Newcastle’s goals, with him caught out from two set-piece situations, while dropping a clanger for Miley’s goal.
The keeper was also chipped by Woltemade, the ultimate humiliation for a shot stopper.
Everton’s number one made just three saves, but was also at fault with an error that led to a goal, failing to prevent 1.48 expected goals from Eddie Howe’s side.
A rare off day for the Englishman, but an off day nonetheless.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall shows class again for Everton
Dewsbury-Hall was on target and helped the Toffees to a hugely deserved three points away at Old Trafford on Monday.
The 27-year-old was on target again on Merseyside in equally terrific fashion with a stunning touch and finish from a James Tarkowski long ball.
That was nothing more than the summer signing deserved after maintaining an 79 per cent pass accuracy throughout the clash, while also taking three shots.
He also chipped in with six recoveries and five successful ground duels as he put in an all-action performance against a tricky Newcastle side.
By no means was Dewsbury-Hall unfortunate to be on the losing side, but it is fair to say that he was the shining light on a dark day at Bramley-Moore.
