Jack Grealish’s display vs Newcastle may cast doubt on Everton transfer plan
Everton may have to rethink if they want to splash £50million on Jack Grealish following his showing against Newcastle United on Saturday.
Grealish has shown his quality since arriving on loan from Manchester City in the summer, but has gone off the boil in recent performances.
Everton lost 4-1 to Newcastle at Hill Dickinson Stadium, raising concerns around the Toffees’ push for Premier League success this campaign, and their winger.
Grealish was highlighted for his defensive contributions in the match, which showcased how little of an effect he had in hurting the Magpies at the top end of the field.
Everton have an option to buy Grealish for £50m and are suggested to be keen on signing him permanently, but his statistics against Newcastle may ring alarm bells.

Jack Grealish didn’t complete a single dribble vs Newcastle
David Moyes has given Grealish the freedom to express himself on a football field once again, and the winger has enjoyed a return to form since arriving on Merseyside.
However, the 30-year-old will cost the Toffees a pretty penny if they are to secure his services permanently in the future.
As highlighted by Sofascore, Grealish completed zero per cent of his five dribbles versus the Magpies and was truly pocketed by Tino Livramento.

The winger is now entering the final years of playing at the peak of his powers, and he will no doubt demand high wages.
Everton will soon have a crucial decision to make.

Everton have the luxury of Grealish for the rest of the season
Man City are unlikely to recall Grealish, and that means that Everton have the luxury of keeping the Englishman for the entirety of the campaign.
His contract with City is due to expire in the summer of 2027, and a free transfer is out of the question for now.
- Manchester City signed Jack Grealish for £100m from Aston Villa in 2021
- He has played 14 times for Everton in the Premier League since joining on loan this summer
- Grealish is without an attacking contribution for Everton in five games
The good thing for the Blues is that Moyes and Co. still have a long season ahead, which gives them plenty of time to assess if Grealish is worth the £50m fee or not.
One thing is for sure, and that’s Everton need to hope that Grealish returns to form sooner rather than later if they are to pick up more wins in a busy winter period.
