Paul Gascoigne shares Jack Grealish certainty after what he’s seen at Everton
Paul Gascoigne has revealed why he believes Jack Grealish is a certainty to be included in Thomas Tuchel’s England World Cup squad.
Jordan Pickford was the only one of David Moyes’ side who went away with the Three Lions during the most recent international break.
On Saturday, though, Pickford made a huge mistake during Everton’s 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
With the Toffees already 1-0 down, England’s first-choice goalkeeper let Lewis Miley’s strike go straight through his hands, allowing the Magpies to double their lead.

Paul Gascoigne makes Jack Grealish claim
Jack Grealish has been praised by Gascoigne since his summer move from Manchester City, with the 58-year-old clearly a big fan of the Everton star.
Grealish has been superb for Everton so far this season, linking up brilliantly with the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
The Man City loanee already has five Premier League goal contributions for David Moyes’ side, and looks to be back near his best on Merseyside.
Speaking to FourFourTwo, Gascoigne, who spent two years at Everton himself, tipped Grealish to make the England squad for the 2026 World Cup in North America.
When asked if the tricky winger would be chosen by Tuchel, Gascoigne replied: “Definitely. I think he’ll make it.”
“I can’t see him not going, because he’s always going to be a threat. It doesn’t matter if he loses the ball, he always wants it again.”
Grealish faces big challenge to make England squad
Despite Grealish’s good performances and the prediction of a former England superstar, the 30-year-old still faces a big challenge to make it onto the plane next summer.
Tuchel has reiterated the need for a calm and settled squad, with the likes of Eberechi Eze, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Gordon getting the nod over Grealish in recent times.
Grealish joined Everton on loan from Man City with the aim of revitalising his career, and there is no doubt he has returned to form under Moyes.
However, it is unlikely that Tuchel will be convinced to disrupt a successful squad and select the winger for the World Cup.
Unless Grealish goes on a sensational run towards the end of the season, he may have to bide his time in terms of a return to the England fold.
