David Moyes to make tactical switch in one change – Everton predicted XI vs Bournemouth

Everton are set to take on Bournemouth on Tuesday as both sides look to get back to winning ways.

After David Moyes oversaw a horrific 4-1 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday, he will be desperate for the Toffees to bounce back.

However, Bournemouth are heavy favourites on Tuesday, despite the Cherries being without a win in their last four matches.

Therefore, the Scotsman is likely to make changes, with the return of Carlos Alcaraz on the cards.

Carlos Alcaraz to return in Bournemouth vs Everton

While multiple Everton players were dreadful against Newcastle and many could be dropped for the mid-week match, it is unlikely that Moyes will go down this route.

Instead, Alcarez could return to the starting XI, with Tim Iroegbunam falling out of the side.

Therefore, Everton start with the same backline, with Jordan Pickford in goal, Jake O’Brien and Vitalii Mykolenko as the full-backs and James Tarkowski and Michael Keane as the centre-halves.

Into midfield, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is set for a deeper role at Everton in a tactical switch from Moyes.

The Englishman has often been utilised as an attacking midfielder. However, Dewsbury-Hall’s stunning deeper display against Manchester United showcased that this may be his better position.

Partnering with him is James Garner, with Alcaraz coming in as the attacking midfielder.

From here, Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye occupy the wings, while Thierno Barry remains the sole striker.

Chances running out for Alcarez

While Alcarez has had few chances this season, opportunities are running out for him to establish himself in the starting XI.

When he has come on, Alcarez has been poor for Everton at times, with the attacking midfielder proving to be inconsistent.

Therefore, if he is given the nod to start against Bournemouth, he may need to put on a show for Moyes to maintain this spot.

If not, the Argentine may find himself back on the bench once again going into the festive period.
