Why Vitalii Mykolenko will be fuming with Premier League announcement ahead of Everton vs Nottingham Forest
Vitalii Mykolenko may face some distraction as Everton prepares to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Mykolenko started for Everton against Newcastle United and played a role in a disappointing result at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
David Moyes was left bemused against Newcastle as his side fell to a shocking defeat despite having the better of the play, especially over the opening 45 minutes.
The Merseyside faithful couldn’t believe what they were watching when Newcastle secured a 4-1 win over Everton on Saturday night.
The Toffees will be looking forward to upcoming games, but the visit of Nottingham Forest won’t represent good news for Mykolenko.

Chris Kavanagh named as referee for Everton vs Nottingham Forest
Everton are set to face Bournemouth on Tuesday as the festive period begins to take its toll on the Blues.
Moyes’ side are preparing to undergo three matches in a week, something which started in less than ideal fashion with defeat against Newcastle.
The Evertonians couldn’t have many complaints with the refereeing performance on Bramley-Moore, with Craig Pawson going largely unnoticed in L4.
The Premier League have now revealed the match officials for upcoming clashes for matchweek 15, which will see Sean Dyche return to Everton with Forest on Saturday, just four days after an away trip to Bournemouth.
Chris Kavanagh has been named as referee for the clash, with Dan Cook and Simon Bennett as assistants, with Tom Kirk as the fourth official.

James Bell and Lee Betts will watch on at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as VAR, but it is Kavanagh’s appointment that will cause problems for the Toffees.

Vitalii Mykolenko was let down by Kavanagh in last outing
Kavanagh hasn’t been named as the referee with the Toffees since April 2025, as Everton faced off against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Nicolas Jackson netted the all-important goal as the home side secured three points, but things could have been so different.
In the 38th minute of the game, Robert Sanchez clashed with Mykolenko inside the penalty area after a long ball was pumped into the box.
The Spaniard came out and attempted to punch the ball away, but cleared out the Ukrainian in the process, leaving both players on the ground in pain.
Sanchez was seen to be lucky to avoid punishment, with the Everton left-back unlikely to have forgotten the decision from Kavanagh last time the pair met.
