Everton’s European chances predicted by supercomputer after Bournemouth win
Everton are into the top half of the Premier League table after the 1-0 win over Bournemouth on Tuesday evening.
Jack Grealish’s late strike was the difference for Everton, as they finally won at the Vitality Stadium after nine years of heartache.
David Moyes was mocked for his Everton ambitions earlier this year, but it seems as though they are within reach after the latest result.
However, the Blues are still expected to fall short in their pursuit of European football, despite their promising position.

Supercomputer thinks Everton will fall short in Premier League
Moyes has led Everton into Europe before, so he knows exactly what it takes to get there, but he is predicted to fall short this season.
The Opta Analyst supercomputer believes that the Blues will finish in 12th position, with an expected points total of 51.50.
It hands the Toffees just a 5.51 per cent chance to qualify for European competition, with 5.47 points between them and Manchester United, who are predicted to finish eighth, which could be the last qualification spot.
| Team | Expected points | European qualification % |
| 8. Manchester United | 56.97 | 20.21% |
| 9. Newcastle | 56.95 | 20.66% |
| 10. Brentford | 53.94 | 10.23% |
| 11. Tottenham | 51.57 | 5.88% |
| 12. Everton | 51.50 | 5.51% |
Obviously, with some of the teams around them still to play, there is plenty of twists and turns that could still happen this gameweek.
David Moyes will relish Everton being underdogs
The longer that his side stay under the radar, the better, for Moyes.
That means that they can quietly go about their business without the pressure of being tagged as contenders for Europe.
They will hope to sneak into the final places and snatch a European berth towards the end of the season, but it will not be an easy task, by any means.
They will need to improve their consistency, and perhaps even their quality, with the January transfer window just around the corner.
The supercomputer is likely right, it may prove to be too much for the Blues right now, but where there is hope, there is a possibility.
One thing is for sure, is it not mathematically impossible for Moyes and Co. to achieve their ambitions.
While a Champions League spot seems out of the question, the Europa League or Europa Conference League, should be the target.
