Jarrad Branthwaite Everton exit on cards after win vs Bournemouth

Everton sealed a significant 1-0 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Tuesday.

David Moyes got the better of Andoni Iraola at the Vitality Stadium on 2 December, with the Toffees now just one point behind fifth-place Brighton in the table.

Jack Grealish has been an incredible signing at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and his 78th-minute goal was enough to seal the three points for the Blues on their trip to Dorset.

However, the biggest takeaway from the game may be that Jarrad Branthwaite’s departure in January or next summer could be on the cards.

Jake O’Brien shines in Everton win vs Bournemouth

Jake O’Brien started alongside James Tarkowski against Bournemouth and put in a solid performance in defence.

While the Republic of Ireland international has mostly played as a right-back at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, he was solid in what is perceived as his natural position at the Vitality Stadium.

With the 24-year-old showcasing his reliability at the back, the Toffees could now potentially be open to selling Branthwaite in the upcoming transfer windows.

The Blues may not be afraid of losing one of their most prized assets in the English centre-back now that they know the defence is well covered in his absence.

Branthwaite recently signed a new contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium until 2030, but the 23-year-old hasn’t featured this season due to an injury.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Merseyside outfit cash in on the defender in the coming months, as they have quality cover in the backline.

Jarrad Branthwaite potential transfer suitors assessed

Manchester United have been heavily linked with Branthwaite in recent years, and they may make a move for him once again soon, as Harry Maguire comes to the end of his spell at Old Trafford.

Tottenham may be another potential suitor for the Everton centre-back, with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven surely set to attract interest from elsewhere after their impressive displays in North London.

Manchester City may be in need of defensive reinforcements soon, with John Stones and Nathan Ake not getting any younger.

Whatever the future holds for Branthwaite, the Toffees will be assured they can cope without him.
