Everton set multi-million-pound example as new Tottenham appointment in place for January

Tottenham look to be following Everton’s lead after the latest developments from North London.

Everton moved into the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season, leaving their famous Goodison Park home after 133 years.

The Friedkin Group acted fast to secure sponsorship for the new ground, with a lucrative £10million deal for the naming rights.

So far, the Blues have had positive fortunes since changing their arena, and it seems as though Spurs are trying to copy that.

How are Tottenham copying Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium move?

The Friedkin’s have set an example since joining Everton, quickly becoming the envy of their fellow Premier League owners.

The Telegraph reported on 4 December that Tottenham are set to appoint Alex Scotcher as their commercial director in January to try and agree a multi-million stadium sponsorship deal.

The former Elevate employee was senior vice-president of global partnerships, and oversaw the naming rights deal for the Toffees’ new stadium while working for the company.

He was previously employed at Roma, as director of global partnerships and chief commercial officer, before he joined the US firm and helped the Blues.

Why the Friedkin Group have proved the perfect owners for Everton

The American ownership has proven to be a dynamic entity, and they have provided the Blues with whatever they have needed so far.

They have funded a spending spree for David Moyes, which reached approximately £113million in the summer and have also put the club back on a stable financial footing after several years of uncertainty under Farhad Moshiri.

They have secured several rounds of fresh working capital for the Toffees and have looked like competent owners since taking over, which is exactly what the Merseysiders needed after the disastrous time under the British-Iranian businessman.

When other clubs are copying their moves, it is a sign that they are doing something right.

The fact that it has taken the Lilywhites this long to secure a stadium deal, and they did one almost straight away, suggests that they know exactly what they are doing, and are the example to follow.
