Everton could use ‘talented’ ace in swap deal for Antonee Robinson – Exclusive

Everton could make use of their squad to form a swap deal for Antonee Robinson.

Robinson has emerged as a target for Everton as a potential return to Merseyside could be on the cards in the January window.

The USA international departed L4 in 2019 for Wigan Athletic, but now Robinson could be on his way from Fulham to Everton this winter.

The Toffees currently have Vitalii Mykolenko as their only senior left-back option, with a new signing potentially in the pipeline.

Robinson could soon agree a switch to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with a swap deal maybe the best course of action for David Moyes and Co.

Everton could swap Adam Aznou for Antonee Robinson

Adam Aznou signed for Everton from Bayern Munich in the summer, but has yet to feature in the Premier League.

The Moroccan is a highly rated youngster, but at 19, he hasn’t fully earned Moyes’ trust and could already be moved on.

If Robinson is to make his move from Fulham, the teenager would only fall further down the pecking order for the Blues.

Former Everton scout Bryan King could see a potential swap deal being utilised, but understands that Aznou will remain patient in his hopes to feature for the first team in L4.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, King said: “He’s a player who can watch and learn. He could even be used as part of a deal with Fulham for Antonee Robinson.

I’m not sure why Fulham would want to let Robinson go, it doesn’t make sense.

I look at Everton’s squad, and it isn’t big, so these fringe players have to be patient, and that’s one of the understandings you have when you join a club like Everton.

There are only 11 starting positions, so if you have 22 players competing for the same positions, that’s what you want.

Aznou hasn’t been needed yet, but there’s still half a season left, and there’s a good chance he could get a game or two yet.

What has David Moyes said about Aznou?

The young full-back could soon be on his way away from the Goodison club after what has been a hugely frustrating start to life in English football.

There is surprise surrounding his lack of minutes, especially with Mykolenko’s role seemingly up for grabs for an incoming defender.

That hasn’t been the case for Aznou, but it did feel like it would be when Moyes shared his delight after confirming his signing over the summer.

He said: “We are pleased to bring Adam to Everton. He’s a young, talented player with a lot of potential. Left-backs are not easy to get, and we’ve brought in a young player who we hope will grow in his time at Everton.

Even with this sentiment, the Scot could soon move the left-back on, which could be a wise move if he can secure a deal to sign Robinson.
