‘Ineos have made huge strides’ as Man United line up Everton star
David Moyes may have a fight on his hands to keep his Everton squad intact during the January transfer window.
The Toffees have had an inconsistent start to the Premier League season, dropping off slightly in the last few weeks with the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Iliman Ndiaye unavailable.
Everton drew 0-0 with Burnley at Turf Moor last Saturday, and now sit 12th in the table, with 25 points from 18 games.
Moyes is already down to the bare bones in terms of squad depth, but now Manchester United are eyeing one of his most important players.

James Garner emerges as January option for Man United
James Garner’s contract at Everton expires in the summer, and his future on Merseyside has come into question over the past few months.
Garner is yet to sign a new deal, sparking rumours that he may be looking for a move away from the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Now, Man United have been linked with the 24-year-old as Ruben Amorim aims to solve his midfield issues during the January window.
According to The i Paper, the Red Devils view Garner as a short-term, cheaper option compared to the likes of Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton, so are exploring a potential deal.
However, Ineos feel that they have made huge strides in their recruitment process in recent times, meaning that they will only sanction a move for the Toffees midfielder if there is real value in the transfer.
Garner has strong links to Man United after coming through their academy ranks, making just two league appearances for the senior side before moving to Everton in the summer of 2022 for around £9million.
Everton have upcoming James Garner deadline
It’s no secret that Everton are desperate to get Garner tied down to a new deal, and they are now running out of time to do so.
As soon as the January transfer window opens, the midfielder will be able to sign pre-contract terms with clubs abroad, leaving the Toffees vulnerable.
The likes of Man United would also be able to come in with cut-price offers that could convince Garner to push for a move away.
With just days remaining until the start of the January window, Everton will be doing everything they can to ensure they don’t lose the 24-year-old.
