Lamine Yamal reacts to Everton star vs Sunderland who exposed David Moyes

Everton could only dream of having a world-class star like Lamine Yamal, with Tyler Dibling their next big talent.

David Moyes watched his side lose in the FA Cup to Sunderland through penalties on Saturday, after the Toffees forced the match to extra time.

Jordan Pickford played a crucial role in keeping the Blues in the game, but James Garner wasn’t able to replicate his equalising penalty in the shootout.

Garner, along with Beto and Thierno Barry were denied by Sunderland’s Robin Roefs as the Black Cats progressed through to the fourth round.

Everton did have positives to take, and Yamal may have been watching the highlights.

Lamine Yamal supports Everton’s Adam Aznou on social media

Adam Aznou has been a forgotten man at the Hill Dickinson Stadium since arriving on a permanent deal from Bayern Munich in the summer.

Moyes had yet to hand the left-back a single competitive minute until he hooked Merlin Rohl in the 86th minute.

Aznou then showed why the Everton boss has been getting it wrong all along with his impressive performance against Sunderland.

As highlighted by Sofascore, Aznou won an important penalty for the Toffees and was useful at getting stuck in at both sides of the game, winning a 7.2 rating.

The 19-year-old took to Instagram and shared some photos of himself in action. Barcelona’s Yamal liked the Everton man’s post and commented a love heart to show support.

It would be no surprise if Aznou has been privately voicing his disappointment with Moyes to Yamal over the phone.

What did David Moyes say about Aznou’s performance?

Everton signed Aznou for around £8million in the summer, handing the teenager a lengthy contract.

Vitalii Mykolenko’s performances have come under fire, and supporters have been left confused as to why Aznou has been unable to get a chance, despite a hefty investment.

The Moroccan looks to have grasped his opportunity with both hands, and left Moyes impressed in his post-match interview.

Moyes said, as quoted by BBC Sport: “I thought he came on and gave us life. He ran about and was lively. I am pleased for Adam.”

Hopefully, this is just the start for Aznou at Everton, as fans will be looking forward to the left-back being rewarded with more game time.
