Ben White transfer reveal at Everton as Arsenal deal to raise eyebrows
Everton risk ridicule by signing Arsenal defender Ben White in the winter transfer window.
With David Moyes forced to play Jake O’Brien out of position, a move for a centre-back who has been converted to a right-back would certainly “raise eyebrows”.
White has been linked with a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but it doesn’t look like Arsenal have any intention of parting ways with the England international for now.
Defensive reinforcements should evidently be a priority for the Merseyside outfit, and the truth behind their pursuit of the Gunners’ defender has emerged.
Everton not pursuing Ben White January signing
White isn’t a target for the Toffees right now, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The news outlet reports on 13 January that while the 28-year-old is rumoured to be wanted at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, the Blues aren’t interested in him at the moment.
It’s obvious to see why the Merseyside outfit would be associated with the Englishman after he’s fallen behind Jurrien Timber in the pecking order under Mikel Arteta.
White has made just five appearances in the Premier League this season as Arsenal push to win the title for the first time in over two decades.
Moyes could possibly sanction Nathan Patterson’s exit soon, but it remains to be seen who’ll be signed to bolster the right-back spot.
David Moyes to fume at The Friedkin Group after latest update
The Friedkin Group aren’t expected to spend big for Moyes in January despite the evident need for more quality in depth at the Toffees.
On 13 January, the Liverpool Echo also claimed that, despite Moyes’ acceptance of the squad’s apparent weaknesses, Everton are expected to remain largely quiet in the coming weeks.

Any transfer business at the Hill Dickinson Stadium will be cautious and opportunistic, which is surely not something the Scottish manager will want to hear.
An approach for Whites seems ambitious, but it’s clear that Moyes needs reinforcements in a few positions sooner rather than later.
