Everton backed to pull off Jack Grealish transfer repeat this window

Everton surprised many when bringing in Jack Grealish on a season-long loan from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

Grealish has been an instant hit at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Everton fans taking next to no time to adopt him as one of their own.

There have been some negatives involving Grealish at Everton, not least his red card last week, but the positives have certainly outweighed those.

Everton are now in prime position to land Grealish permanently at the end of the campaign when his loan spell ends.

But hungry supporters will be after even more, especially when it comes to adding to the squad in the winter window.

And experienced journalist Alan Myers sees no reason why that cannot be the case.

Everton have pulling power to land another Jack Grealish

Everton have already been linked with numerous players this month, with some more realistic than others.

For example, Everton’s proposed interest in Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Emil Holm seems more than reasonable on the face of it.

However, other deals – such as a club-record Everton fee for Jorgen Strand Larsen – seems pretty wide of the mark.

But in the view of Myers, there is no reason why Everton cannot go after targets of a certain stature this window.

Responding to a question on X that asked if Everton have the pulling power to land certain players, Myers responded: “I’m sure we do.

“We got Grealish and [Kiernan] Dewsbury-Hall, two top players. I don’t see why we can’t do that again.”

There are no names specifically mentioned, but it does suggest that being ambitious and looking to recruit from sides such as Man City and Chelsea – whether a loan deal or otherwise – makes sense.

What is the latest on Grealish to Everton?

In a dream world, Everton will add one or two first-team ready players to the squad this month and then push on in the summer.

Ideally, that would also include Grealish arriving permanently from Man City.

The England international has six assists and two goals in 19 Premier League appearances for the Toffees this campaign.

Grealish has been Everton’s best attacking player

While it is true the attacker has dropped off at times, he still has two more direct goal involvements than any other Everton player.

It was reported over the weekend that a £30million fee would likely be enough for Everton to sign Grealish permanently.

Some will raise eyebrows at that, but it is exactly the type of fee that is required for a player of Grealish’s quality.

David Moyes will simply hope that more world-class players arrive at Hill Dickinson Stadium both this window and then in the summer.
