Aston Villa hold all the keys as late-window Beto exit could be on at Everton in ironic twist
Beto’s future at Everton remains uncertain heading into the final two weeks of the winter transfer window.
Real Betis and an array of others have been linked with Beto, whose Everton career has never truly got going.
Beto netted 10 goals in all competitions for the Toffees last season, but bagged just five the season prior and is on three from 25 matches this campaign.
There was recently talk of Beto being involved in a Roma swap deal involving Artem Dovbyk, but it might be that he ends up at another Italian side.

Beto appeals to Antonio Conte at Napoli
Thierno Barry scored the winner in Everton’s 1-0 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday, with the summer signing finally starting to find his feet.
It leaves Beto as the odd man out if Everton are successful in signing another forward this month, which is very much what David Moyes would like to happen.
According to RAI journalist Ciro Venerato, as quoted by Mondo Napoli, Beto is now on the radar of Antonio Conte at Napoli.
Conte is said to be a fan of Beto’s, while Napoli chiefs are also open to the move, but it relies on other factors.
In an ironic twist, Everton target Youssef En-Nesyri is wanted by Napoli. However, there is a chance that Aston Villa could nab the Morocco international first.
Should that happen, Napoli would then have to look elsewhere for options before the window closes, which is where Beto comes into the equation.
It means that Everton will be keeping a close eye on developments at Premier League rivals Villa to see if they do indeed manage to persuade En-Nesyri to join.
How do Beto and Youssef En-Nesyri compare?
It appears that Beto and En-Nesyri’s paths are intertwined this month given all the speculation from home and abroad.
There is no denying that En-Nesyri’s figures this season make for far better reading, though it must be remembered he has been playing in the Turkish Super Lig.
| Beto | En-Nesyri | |
| 27 | Age | 28 |
| £18.2m | Market value | £19.6m |
| 2 | League goals 2025-26 | 7 |
| 6.43 | Average Sofascore rating | 6.87 |
Beto certainly has his strengths – albeit some will disagree – but the bottom line is that Everton need a goalscorer.
Barry may well turn out to be that man, and his winner at Villa Park will fill him with confidence, but it is quite clear Beto will never be prolific.
If he does end up at Napoli in this transfer merry-go-round of sorts, Everton need to first ensure a replacement is lined up.
