Everton ready bid for Juanlu Sanchez as David Moyes addresses transfer priority
Everton have renewed their interest in Juanlu Sanchez.
Nathan Patterson’s injury struggles have left David Moyes needing to improvise, with Jake O’Brien being deployed as the regular right-back in Everton’s defence this season.
The right-back position has been a problem for Everton, and the 24-year-old, who is traditionally a centre-back, has struggled to perform in the unfamiliar position.
Sevilla ace Sanchez was on Everton’s radar during the summer, and the Toffees are now ready to go back in for him before the deadline on 2 February.

Everton prepare £10.4m bid for Juanlu Sanchez
Moyes knows that while a prolific striker is desperately needed, he needs more attacking threat from his right-back in the second half of the season.
Spanish outlet Vamos Mi Sevilla has reported that Everton are prepared to bid £10.4million for Sanchez.
The deal would also include add-ons that Sevilla would find easily achievable, but the Toffees aren’t the only ones interested.
Napoli have entered the race to sign the Spaniard, and they intend to propose an initial loan with an obligation to buy fee.
The good news for Everton is that Sevilla would only accept that deal if the payment is made before 30 June to balance the books in the current financial year.

Sevilla are in financial turmoil, and Sanchez is one of the most valuable assets that they would allow to leave.

Juanlu Sanchez signing could single-handedly secure European football for Everton
Wolves and Crystal Palace are also interested in the 22-year-old, who is viewed as Sevilla’s second-choice right-back.
Everton sit just three points off fifth-placed Man United in the Premier League table, but their formation can feel unbalanced at times.
Vitalii Mykolenko’s stability on the other side has given Jack Grealish the license to attack, and if the Toffees can find a right-back who can perform reliably behind Iliman Ndiaye, their European ambitions would be considerably strengthened.
- Sanchez has made 15 La Liga appearances this season
- He has represented Spain for the U17, U19, U21, and U23 age groups
- Sanchez ended the 2024-25 campaign with eight goal involvements in La Liga
Patterson has started the last two matches, and while he has impressed, he looks set to leave to gain more game time.
Moyes needs someone that he can fully trust, and the continued interest in Sanchez will lead fans to believe that the Spaniard could be that player.
If Everton do get the deal over the line, it would be a huge boost to their European hopes.
