Everton to hijack transfer for ‘incredible’ striker once lauded by Luis Suarez
Everton remain active in the January transfer market, with the addition of a new striker still on the cards.
Everton’s 1-0 win away to Aston Villa was a huge three points for the Toffees, but it cannot be allowed to distract from the fact that the squad depth on Merseyside is still poor.
David Moyes had his hands tied when it came to making changes at Villa Park, and Everton will be looking to rectify that with some additions before the transfer deadline on 2 February.
Among those linked with a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium is a striker who once earned praise from Barcelona and Liverpool great Luis Suarez.
Everton want to sign former Chelsea striker
Everton need to sign another striker in January, regardless of what happens in the next two weeks.
However, those requirements will only be amplified further if Beto exits the Hill Dickinson Stadium, even if he has been worthless this season.
As a result, Everton have been linked with a move to sign Tammy Abraham, despite reports that he has a verbal agreement ahead of a move to Aston Villa.
The Villans are yet to match the asking price set by Besiktas, with it claimed that it will take a fee of over £17million to bring him back to the Premier League.

Abraham has scored 13 goals in 25 appearances for the Super Lig outfit, though it was his time at Chelsea that saw him hailed as one of the brightest up-and-coming strikers.
Luis Suarez had high expectations for Tammy Abraham after what he said in 2019
Abraham started his career with Chelsea, but, unsurprisingly, it was several loan spells later until he finally started to make a name for himself.
The 28-year-old’s first move saw him join Bristol City, before he went on to have spells with Swansea and Aston Villa and then returned to Stamford Bridge for an extended period of time.
- Bristol City – 48 appearances, 26 goals
- Swansea City – 39 appearances, 8 goals
- Aston Villa – 40 appearances, 26 goals
- Chelsea – 79 appearances, 30 goals
It was his return to Chelsea that caught the eye of Suarez, who had nothing but good things to say about the towering centre-forward.
“There are many young strikers who are playing very well this season,” he said of Abraham back in 2019.
“Personally, I have a certain number of young and old strikers that I like to see because of their skills. For example, I like Abraham, Chelsea’s No.9.
“In my opinion, he is an incredible striker with good finishing and who moves incredibly despite his youth.”
If Everton can hijack the deal, it would be an excellent addition, and one that would certainly bring more goals to Moyes’ side.
