Everton backed to strike £20m Kasper Hogh signing as release clause details shared

Everton could make a surprise move to sign Kasper Hogh from Bodo/Glimt this winter.

The Toffees are keen to add a new forward to their ranks in January, with Wilson Isidor the latest to be linked with Everton.

An alternative to Everton flop Beto could be required if the Guinea-Bissau international is to depart before the end of the month.

Romelu Lukaku has also been linked with an Everton return, but he may prove too costly for the Blues at this stage.

This could see David Moyes turn to what he knows and utilise the Norwegian market to bring in Hogh after details emerged over his potential Bodo/Glimt departure.

Everton have now been linked with Harry Wilson, as the clear intent to bring in attacking reinforcements continues at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Blues still need to be savvy with their finances, so big-money moves for the likes of Wilson or Lukaku may not be possible this winter.

Turning to lesser-known markets like Norway instead could pay dividends for Moyes and his side across the second half of the season.

Hogh is one of the standout men in the Eliteserien, having scored 17 league goals, while providing five assists across his 28 outings this season.

That sort of record can’t be ignored, and the Norway-based former Everton scout Bryan King has suggested the Toffees could swoop and take advantage of a potential release clause.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, King said: “David Moyes likes Scandinavian players, he’s had a few of them over the years.

It will be interesting to see what happens at Bodo Glimt, they’re playing Manchester City.

The boy Hogh upfront for Bodo Glimt has picked up plenty of interest.

He will be a player of interest in January because they’ve only got two more Champions League games and they aren’t going to go any further in it, I don’t think.

It’s a good time for them to make money on a player when, in Norway, there’s not normally too much action around Scandinavian players in January.

I’d think Bodo have a £15m clause to get him out with extras to take up a total deal to around £20m. In today’s day and age, that would be cheap.

Who is Bodo/Glimt ace Kasper Hogh?

There is every chance that clubs in the Premier League will now sit up and take notice of Hogh after his brace against Manchester City on Tuesday.

It looks as if Moyes and Everton could get to the forward first and potentially land themselves a goalscorer on red-hot form.

Hogh is currently featuring in the Champions League with Bodo/Glimt and has now netted five goals across two campaigns in Europe’s elite competition.

At 25, the Dane has gone through plenty of different experiences to get to that level, having featured for five other clubs before landing at Aspmyra Stadion.

The striker started his senior career with Randers, where he made just 16 appearances before moving to Valur, Hobro, AaB and Stabaek before his Bodo move.

He could soon find himself in the Premier League with the Merseyside outfit as his rise looks set to continue.
