Everton star Dwight McNeil reacts as winger transfer officially confirmed
Everton still need to decide on what they’re going to do with Dwight McNeil this month.
David Moyes watched his side take down Aston Villa on Sunday in a classic performance away from home that earned a 1-0 victory.
McNeil featured in the match, and his second-half effort was parried into the path of Thierno Barry to score the winning goal.
The winger’s future is hanging in the balance on Merseyside, as Everton still have business to do in the January window.
McNeil has been linked with a move away from the Toffees, with Moyes keen to find solutions in the market soon.
Dwight McNeil reacts to Jack Harrison’s new move
Jack Harrison spent two seasons at Goodison Park on loan from Leeds United and returned to his parent club this summer.
The left-winger unsettled Leeds’ fans by choosing to stay with Everton while the Whites were scrapping to get back into the Premier League.
Now, Harrison is set for a new adventure.
- Harrison played 73 times in total for Everton
- He scored six times for the Blues
- Everton decided against pursuing Harrison on a permanent basis
After failing to impress for the Toffees last season, Harrison is testing himself in Italy with Fiorentina, as he’s joined the Serie A side on loan until the end of the season, in a deal that includes a buy option.
Everton’s McNeil showed support for the 29-year-old, liking his Instagram post that confirmed his switch to Italy.
But with one former Everton winger moving on, will McNeil?

Did McNeil do enough against Aston Villa to stay at Everton?
Coventry City have been mentioned as one club that could sign McNeil this month, but it’s unclear as to whether the 26-year-old would take a step down to the Championship so early into his career.
McNeil has played consistently in the Premier League since his breakthrough with Burnley in 2018, and has never played a single minute in England’s second tier.

As highlighted by Sofascore, McNeil had an uninspiring rating of 6.6 against Villa, despite being at the heart of Everton’s match-winning moment.
He showed little ability to take on a man and create chances, albeit it was a difficult fixture and tactical setup to impress in.
With Iliman Ndiaye set to return from the African Cup of Nations, McNeil will once again be pushed down Moyes’ pecking order, and a January exit cannot be ruled out.
