Everton stance on Jack Grealish transfer shared after season-ending injury news

Jack Grealish’s Everton future is in limbo as he could miss the rest of the season.

Everton have an option to buy Grealish in the summer, once his season-long loan deal from Manchester City expires.

However, Grealish is set for time on the sidelines after suffering a foot injury, and it is understood that the problem will keep him out for months.

That may put a spanner in David Moyes‘ plans to sign the 30-year-old.

Will Everton still sign Grealish after injury blow?

Everton were rocked by the news that Grealish was set to see a specialist over the issue, and it may get even worse in the near future after another update.

A report from talkSPORT on 20 January claims that he may have played his final game for the Blues, with the injury set to keep him out for the rest of the campaign.

However, it states that the Toffees may still activate the buy clause and purchase the loanee after seeing what he can do already.

Why Everton should still want Grealish signature despite injury setback

Grealish has revived his career in a blue shirt, after falling out of favour under Pep Guardiola.

He has a brilliant relationship with the supporters at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and he has already notched two goals and six assists in the league this season, the most of any Toffees player.

His impact is clear, and if anything, the Merseysiders need more players of his quality, rather than letting him return to the Etihad Stadium, if they are to achieve their ambitions of qualifying for European competition.

Grealish will be determined to bounce back when he returns to action, and that could be a huge boost for Moyes’ side next season as they chase their goals, with a better squad at his disposal.

He showed his faith in the Blues by signing for them on loan; the least they could do is the same when he is back and fit again.

It would be mutually beneficial for all parties if Everton still wanted to bring Grealish in permanently, as the report suggests.

Only time will tell whether they actually follow through, or they allow the veteran to become another loan player that the fans have fallen in love with.
