Romelu Lukaku’s best Everton moments after stunning transfer news
Romelu Lukaku left a legacy at Everton, and that could be continued this January.
Everton remain in desperate need of a new striker in January, and that will only be amplified if Beto departs to Italy this month.
Lukaku has been linked with a return to Everton, despite having yet to feature for Napoli this season, with a deal likely to cost in the region of £17million.
With a potential reunion on the cards at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Goodison News takes a look at three of his best moments in an Everton shirt.

Romelu Lukaku made history vs Bournemouth
Plenty has changed at Everton between now and then, and perhaps most notably is the way that goals have dried up.
The Toffees have scored 24 goals in 22 Premier League games this season, which is only four times more than they managed in a single match against Bournemouth almost nine years ago.
Ronald Koeman‘s 100th game in charge of the Blues saw them secure a 6-3 win over the Cherries at Goodison Park, and the man of the moment was indeed Lukaku.
The Belgian powerhouse scored four goals that day, and he became the first player since 1986 to score that many goals in a single league game.
Lukaku’s true quality was on full show that day, though it wouldn’t be the only time.
Lukaku achieved Everton-first vs Arsenal in 2017
Everton enjoyed an excellent campaign back in 2016-17, and it remains their best Premier League campaign to date.
Unsurprisingly, Lukaku was at the heart of that success, scoring 25 goals by the end of the campaign.
His final goal came on the final day, when the Toffees fell to a 3-1 defeat away to Arsenal, but it was enough to secure him second place in the Premier League Golden Boot for that season.
- Finished the season with 25 Premier League goals
- Scored 40% of Everton’s league goals
- Played a crucial role in Everton’s best campaign since 2013-14
By doing so, he became the highest-scoring Everton player in a single Premier League campaign, though it came at somewhat of a cost.
The following summer saw Lukaku complete his club-record transfer to Man United.
Duncan Ferguson’s record was broken vs Tottenham
Given the fact that Lukaku scored 25 in a single campaign, it will be no surprise to people that he is Everton’s all-time leading goalscorer in the Premier League.
However, it was an away defeat to Tottenham that saw Lukaku achieve the feat.
After scoring in a 2-0 win over Sunderland back in February 2017, Lukaku equalled Barry Ferguson’s 60 Premier League goals for the Toffees.

A week later, the Belgian netted again in a 3-2 defeat against Tottenham, taking his tally up to 61.
He finished his spell at Everton with 68 goals, which is still the most any player has every scored for the Merseysiders in the Premier League.
