Jack Grealish injury twist emerges as Everton given hope yet

Everton ace Jack Grealish is set for a spell on the sidelines, but the length may not be as clear as first thought.

Fabrizio Romano claimed on 21 January that Everton star Grealish was set to be out for 12 weeks after medical tests confirmed a stress fracture.

Grealish reacted to the issue on social media, perhaps confirming Everton supporters’ fears that he is going to be out for a considerable period.

However, all may not be what it seems after a new update on the 30-year-old Hill Dickinson Stadium loan star.

Everton sources appear to dismiss Romano’s update

It appears that Romano’s update on Grealish may not be accurate, though, after Everton sources spoke out on the matter.

However, the Liverpool Echo claimed on 22 January that senior Blues insiders revealed on Wednesday that Grealish is yet to see a consultant over the injury.

It states that any suggestion that he has already had tests that confirm the extent of the problem are incorrect.

How will this affect Everton’s chances of signing Grealish?

Ultimately, the main question for supporters, is whether the injury will affect the chances of signing the England hopeful on a permanent deal.

The Blues have an option to purchase the maestro for £50million once the loan concludes, and they are believed to still be interested in pursuing that despite the expected absence.

A report from talkSPORT on 21 January claimed that the Toffees may still be willing to do the deal, as they have already seen what Grealish can do in a blue shirt.

Everton’s attacking options in the league.

That stance makes sense, as David Moyes and Co need more players of his ilk, rather than losing one, if they are to eventually qualify for European football.

Grealish will also be motivated to come back stronger, and perform even better when he returns to action, and that can only benefit the Merseysiders.

He has already established a relationship with the supporters and is clearly loving his football again, after not fully fitting in at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.

The injury may even work out for the Blues, as they may be able to negotiate a lower price with the Citizens to keep their star loanee.
