Everton face decision time as 19-time domestic champions table Beto offer

Beto’s time at Everton could be coming to an end after a new bid was submitted for the centre-forward.

The 27-year-old has been with the Toffees since his move from Udinese in the summer of 2023, but has only managed 13 Premier League goals in his two-and-a-half years on Merseyside.

He has underperformed once again this season, only managing to find the net three times in 25 appearances across all competitions for David Moyes’ side.

Beto has been strongly linked with an Everton exit as a result of his poor form, and his departure is now one step closer.

Fenerbahce lodge official Beto bid

Everton signed Thierno Barry from Villarreal last summer, and many felt that was the beginning of the end for Beto at the Toffees.

The Guinea-Bissau international didn’t immediately lose his place in the team, starting seven of the first nine Premier League games of the season.

However, he has only started once in the top-flight since the beginning of November, and is firmly behind Barry in the pecking order.

Now, according to Turkish journalist Yagız Sabuncuoglu via X on Friday, Fenerbahce have submitted a formal offer for Beto.

The striker’s representatives have reportedly travelled to Istanbul to meet with the 19-time Turkish champions and discuss the details of the move.

Who will Everton sign to replace Beto if he leaves?

Fenerbahce are looking to bring in Beto as a replacement for Youssef En-Nesyri, who looks set to leave the Turkish side before the end of the winter transfer window.

Ironically, Everton have shown an interest in En-Nesyri, with the Toffees exploring a potential loan move for the Morocco international earlier this month.

However, the 28-year-old is now expected to join Italian giants Juventus instead, forcing the Merseyside outfit to look at other options.

Everton have been linked with Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh over the last few days, after the 25-year-old grabbed a brace in his side’s shock 3-1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League.

Hogh reportedly has a £20million release clause in his contract with the Norwegian side, which could tempt the Toffees into making an approach.
