Everton’s Hill Dickinson record laid bare, it really is abysmal

Everton supporters have not had the best of times at Hill Dickinson Stadium this season, after leaving Goodison Park.

The Toffees’ move to their new home came with a lot of excitement, and making it a fortress would have been number one on the agenda this season.

However, this has been far from the case, and Everton’s 2-1 loss to Bournemouth was a prime example of their struggles at home.

The L3 outfit looked on their way to three points, but a three-minute collapse from Everton against Bournemouth saw Rayan and Amine Adli score in the 61st and 64th minutes.

And in the end, handing Everton another mark on their terrible home record.

Everton’s home record makes for bad reading

On the road, Everton are one of the toughest opponents to face, but they have been unable to translate that when playing in front of their home crowd.

Their push for European football has been greatly backed by that away form, but if David Moyes could sort their struggles at home, they could be thinking about Champions League rather than Europa League or Conference League.

This truly abysmal form is compounded by a new stat which shows the Merseyside club are yet to win at home at certain times.

This season, when playing at 4.30pm or later, the Toffees haven’t won a game at Hill Dickinson Stadium at seven times of asking.

Everton have drawn three and lost four during those scheduled games.

However, in earlier kick-offs, the Toffees’ record is actually quite good. They have won 13 points from a possible 18 when kicking off before 4.30pm.

Everton looking to break Hill Dickinson hoodoo against Man United

Looking at the fixture list, Moyes will not like to hear the timing of Everton’s game against Manchester United.

The L3 outfit are set to take on the Red Devils on Monday, 23 February, at 8pm, meaning they will have a chance to break this record, or perhaps even extend it.

However, recent performances may not provide much hope.

Everton stats under Moyes

Jake O’Brien’s red card against Bournemouth certainly makes life more difficult for the Everton manager to turn things around. The Irishman is suspended against Michael Carrick’s side.

However, Nathan Patterson could be set for a starring role in O’Brien’s place, with his future at Everton hanging in the balance.

If Everton can get over this hump, it could end up being a special season during the inaugural campaign at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
