Everton to accelerate Liam Delap transfer talks, striker may be in demand soon

Chelsea striker Liam Delap needs no introduction at Everton after snubbing a move to Hill Dickinson Stadium last summer.

David Moyes wanted the former Ipswich Town star to be a pivotal part of his project after leaving Goodison Park, but the youngster opted for a transfer to Stamford Bridge.

The Toffees ended up signing Thierno Barry from Villarreal to reinforce their attack, but the French forward arguably needs time to fulfil his potential in L4.

As for Delap, the 23-year-old has had an underwhelming spell at the London outfit so far, and a move away already could potentially be on the cards sooner rather than later.

Everton should revisit Liam Delap transfer after Chelsea win vs Hull City

Jamie Carragher criticised Delap’s decision to join Chelsea, with the Toffees seen as a more appropriate next step for him after leaving Ipswich.

The English centre-forward has struggled to secure regular game time at the London club, starting just nine Premier League games and scoring two goals in 24 appearances across all competitions.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the young attacker reconsider his future at the end of the season, and the Toffees should accelerate talks to finally bring him to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

If Delap does decide to leave Chelsea in the coming months, there likely won’t be a shortage of suitors for him.

Despite evidently finding life difficult in London, the young number nine showcased his quality after providing three assists as Liam Rosenior’s team beat Hull City 4-0 in the FA Cup fourth round on 13 February.

In the striker’s 88 minutes on the pitch at the MKM Stadium, he hit the woodwork once, completed three of his five dribbles, won five of his 12 duels and created one big chance, as per Sofascore.

David Moyes to surely line up another Chelsea deal at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Tyrique George signed for the Toffees in the final hours of the winter transfer window as Moyes looked for someone to replace the injured Jack Grealish.

The young Englishman has moved to Everton on an initial loan deal, which includes an option to buy him at the end of the season.

George has immediately been given opportunities by the Scottish manager at Hill Dickinson Stadium, indicating a willingness from the Merseyside outfit to see whether he’s worth signing permanently in the summer.

With a possible deal for George already lined up, The Friedkin Group should also approach and see whether Delap is for sale.
