David Moyes has clear Everton transfer priority after Alan Shearer prediction for Newcastle clash
Alan Shearer has predicted Newcastle United to beat Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.
David Moyes’ team will travel to St James’ Park on 28 February, with the Toffees looking to get back to winning ways after two straight defeats.
The Premier League icon has given his former side the edge over the Blues due to their recent results in the Champions League, beating Qarabag in the play-offs of the competition, setting up a round of 16 tie with Barcelona.
While it’s the Merseyside outfit’s home form that has been concerning this season, their lack of quality up front may hinder their chances against the Tyneside outfit.

Alan Shearer takes aim at lack of quality in Everton attack
Shearer feels the Toffees’ season would’ve been much better had they had a quality number nine to score goals.
The Blues signed Thierno Barry from Villarreal last summer, but apart from a small purple patch, his time so far at Hill Dickinson Stadium has been underwhelming.
Beto is the only other natural striker at Moyes’ disposal, with the Guinea-Bissau international having to be content with a role off the bench.
The two centre-forwards have a combined nine goals in all competitions for the Merseyside outfit this season, and that clearly isn’t good enough if they want to compete for a European spot in the Premier League.

Writing in the Metro on 27 February, Shearer said, “A point separating them sums up the league. Everton can’t win at home, yet they’re in a really decent league position. It would be a different story if Everton had a centre forward, someone who could put goals in the back of the net.
“I still think Newcastle might just edge this one because of the belief in Europe this week.”

David Moyes already has perfect number nine transfer on cards at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Moyes wanted Chelsea striker Liam Delap at Everton last summer, but the striker chose to move to Stamford Bridge from Ipswich Town.
The 23-year-old is now struggling for regular game time at the London club, with Joao Pedro ahead of him in the pecking order.

It’s been reported that the Merseyside outfit are back in the race for the English striker’s signature ahead of the summer transfer window and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
Delap would undoubtedly be the perfect player to bolster the Toffees’ attack and they should go all in for him at the end of the season.
