Beto axed in two David Moyes changes – Everton predicted XI vs Burnley

Everton are aiming to record back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time in 2026 when they host Burnley on Tuesday.

The Toffees haven’t won at Hill Dickinson Stadium since 6 December, which highlights how desperately they need to secure all three points in L4.

However, Everton secured a fantastic 3-2 away victory over Newcastle on Saturday, and there is real hope among fans that David Moyes can lead the side to qualifying for European football.

Up next is Scott Parker’s Burnley, who come into the match off the back of a 4-3 loss to Brentford, and they sit 19th in the table.

Even though Burnley will likely be relegated, Everton aren’t in for an easy test, and Thierno Barry could come back into the side for Beto.

Thierno Barry to replace Beto among two changes

With the Toffees playing in an intense game on Saturday, it wouldn’t be a shock for Moyes to make some changes to freshen up the side.

Beto may have scored against Newcastle, but his chances of starting Tuesday’s game against Burnley aren’t very high.

The 28-year-old fired home from close range to put Everton 2-1 up after Dwight McNeil’s long-range strike was spilt by Nick Pope.

According to Sofascore, the Guinea-Bissau international battled well up front against the Magpies, but Barry’s winning goal in the match could make it a much easier decision for Moyes.

The Frenchman now has six league goals for the Toffees, and as he was rested at St James’ Park, he’ll be desperate to return to the starting line-up.

The other change could see Dwight McNeil drop out of the side for Harrison Armstrong, with Iliman Ndiaye moving across to the right wing.

The rest of the team should remain unchanged, but Jarrad Branthwaite’s role in the team was definitely made clear on Saturday.

Here’s how Jarrad Branthwaite has given Moyes an easy decision

A huge point of contention has been Branthwaite’s role at left-back, which Everton’s head coach firmly stands by.

In Thursday’s press conference ahead of the Newcastle match, Moyes said: “Branthwaite is as comfortable as a left-back as he is a centre-back.”

However, after a run of games at left-back in past matches, he scored Everton’s opener at St James’ Park and had a solid display in his favoured position at centre-back.

Although it was previously a dilemma for Moyes, Branthwaite has effectively made up his mind.

Against Burnley, it looks inevitable that he will partner James Tarkowski once again, and although that may not be the news Michael Keane will want to hear, Everton fans will be delighted.
