David Moyes hits remarkable Everton milestone that shames previous record after Burnley win

Everton now have themselves in a strong position to push for a place in European football following their 2-0 win over Burnley on Tuesday.

Hill Dickinson Stadium rejoiced as the Toffees put growing concerns over home form to bed with a comfortable victory courtesy of goals from James Tarkowski and Kiernan-Dewsbury Hall.

David Moyes now has his side sitting in eighth place following the result, on 43 points, closing in on last year’s tally of 48, with nine games to go.

However, despite the trend showing that the Blues are on track to beat their record from last season, the win has done something even more important, and has put Moyes’ reappointment into perspective.

David Moyes’ second Everton spell beats 21/22 and 22/23 seasons combined

Moyes came back to Everton a European winner, having won the Europa Conference League with West Ham, but the Hammers supporters were impatient with the 62-year-old’s playstyle.

Bluenoses welcome Moyes’ footballing brain, and understand that results are the most important thing in football, which is now shown in comparison to Everton’s 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons.

As highlighted by Everton FC News on X, the Blues’ win over Burnley made it Moyes’ 20th league victory in 48 games since his reappointment.

In comparison, during the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons, Everton only managed to pick up 19 wins in 76 games combined under the likes of Rafa Benitez, Frank Lampard and Sean Dyche.

It’s also taken the Scots’ win ratio up to 42 per cent, which averages out at 1.5 points per game.

Moyes has found perfect attacking balance, here’s why

It wasn’t too long ago Bluenoses were worried about the lack of goals that the Toffees were scoring, let alone things like chance creation and expected goals.

However, in recent games, that seems to have not been a problem, as Moyes is utilising his full squad to the best of his ability to get the Blues firing in front of goal.
