Danny Murphy makes transfer plea to Friedkins already thanks to ‘phenomenal’ David Moyes

Danny Murphy has provided heaps of praise for David Moyes, suggesting that he deserves further backing over the summer.

Everton beat Burnley 2-0 at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Tuesday, keeping their European hopes alive.

Goals from James Tarkowski and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall sealed the deal under the lights, keeping the Toffees eighth in the Premier League with nine matches to go.

Moyes rejoined the club last January, before he quickly steered the club away from the bottom end of the standings.

This time around, he has Everton within touching distance of a European spot, while the chance is there to keep on building over the summer.

Danny Murphy says David Moyes deserves more backing in summer

Everton’s recruitment has worked well in recent years, with Iliman Ndiaye in particular shining for the Toffees.

Everton have been without Jack Grealish as of late, but the impact of fellow summer arrival Dewsbury-Hall has been felt, with the midfielder in fine form under Moyes.

Speaking on Match of the Day on Wednesday night, former Liverpool midfielder Murphy was quick to praise Moyes and his side.

“They’ve got some really experienced players who know their way around the Premier League, and are playing at a really good level” he said.

“[Moyes is] a phenomenal manager and he’s got good backroom staff. I think they’ve exceeded expectations, and if he gets a little bit of backing in the summer, it could be a really positive season for Everton.”

Following the win against Burnley, Everton now have the coming weekend off due to their FA Cup exit, before they gear up to face Arsenal and Chelsea.

David Moyes has proven he deserves Everton transfer backing

Since rejoining the club last January, Moyes has done a fantastic job of steering the club away from trouble, and making the relegation worries of recent years a thing of the past.

This season, the Toffees have been far away from any trouble, and are now within touching distance of their first European venture since 2017.

Ahead of the current campaign, European suggestions may have been considered ambitious.

But now, the Toffees are well and truly in the race, and Moyes has earned backing over the summer as the club look to continue the upward trajectory at their new state of the art stadium.
