Isaac Heath’s contract latest as Everton talent dubbed ‘too good’ for current league

Isaac Heath is currently enjoying his time away from Everton on loan.

Heath is on loan with Accrington Stanley in League Two, where he has notched six goals and five assists in 32 appearances.

It is the Everton talent’s first taste of senior football away from the Hill Dickinson Stadium side, and it looks as though he can adapt to the rigours that come with the game.

That is encouraging for David Moyes, that he has not looked out of place in the fourth-tier; in fact, he is shining.

Everton gem Heath labelled ‘too good’ for League Two

Accrington boss John Doolan told the Liverpool Echo that the 21-year-old should not still be in League Two next season.

He believes that Heath is good enough to play in the Championship right now, after his exploits at the Wham Stadium.

He said: “I think the world is his oyster. In terms of where he can go, I think he’s too good for League Two.

“I think you’re looking at the top end of League One or the Championship.”

Where does Heath’s contract stand with Everton?

Heath is under contract until the summer of 2027 with the Toffees, as he signed an extension after winning the Under-21 Player of the Season award last season.

He penned the new deal in July 2025, committing to Moyes’ side for a further two-years, rather than moving on.

The Blues secured his future before sending him out on loan this season so that he could gain vital experience in the Football League.

Everton have Heath decision to make shortly

Two years is not a long time in football, and the summer of 2027, when Heath’s deal expires is not that far away.

The Blues will need to make a decision soon, whether they believe that the youngster can ever make it as a senior star with them.

If that answer is yes, they need to show him that there is a pathway into the first-team, so that he agrees on fresh terms.

If it is no, and they think the Football League is his level for the rest of his career, then they will surely see him leave for free.

The rise of Harrison Armstrong into a first-team option could convince Moyes to give youth players who have been loaned out a chance to make it, but only time will tell for Heath.

He will have suitors if he leaves Everton permanently when his deal finishes and Doolan would likely be at the front of the queue to sign his current loan star.
